The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Shafqat Ali, while assuring his all out support to the people associated with the printing and packaging industry, has urged the government to bring down rate of duty on import of printing plates.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Printing and Packaging industry. The meeting was attended by Mian Abuzar Shad, Malik Munawar, Irfan Ahmad, Mubashir Malik, Khalid Pervaiz and Mohammad Pervaiz.
The participants of the meeting were of the view that Printing and Packaging is the second largest employment providing industry in the country with which more than 200,000 people are attached directly and indirectly.
They said that the CTP plates are necessary to enhance printing quality; therefore, the existing rate of 25-percent should be brought down so that the industry could be able to face global challenges. They also handed over the copy of budget proposals pertaining to printing and packaging industry to the LCCI President.
