The Federal Ministry of Commerce has sought the proposals of Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) for formulating the 2006-07 trade policy by taking the Sialkot-based manufacturers and exporters of sports goods into confidence.
PSGMEA Chairman Arif Mehmood Sheikh told newsmen here on Friday that the Federal government was intending to solve the prolonged problems of Sialkot's sports goods industry.
He said the government would soon announce some effective steps in the coming trade policy for modernising and flourishing this industry on scientific methods and advanced technologies under the World Trade Organisation (WTO) regime.
