Dozens of tribesmen opened fire on a wedding ceremony because the revellers were playing music, local officials said on Tuesday.
At least one of the guests at the wedding was injured in the incident late Monday in the town of Tank, which is in the vicinity of North Waziristan tribal district where forces are battling al Qaeda linked militants.
A local politician blamed the attack on pro-Taleban tribesmen who want to enforce their strict brand of Sharia law in the territory along the border with Afghanistan.
"Dozens of Talebans arrived in vehicles and opened indiscriminate fire on the participants and forcing everyone to run for cover," local political official Haji Abul Rehman said.
"Some people say the attackers were Taleban, but we are investigating that who these people were," Tank administration official Riaz Kundi told AFP.
