Wheat futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were mostly lower at midsession on Tuesday, with pressure from improved weekly crop ratings for US winter wheat states limiting early advances, traders said.
However, support from near-oversold conditions and a drier trend in parts of the US Plains this week underpinned the market.
Trade was interrupted for about 40 minutes, starting at 10:41 am CST (1541 GMT) due to a technical problem, a CBOT spokesman said. Trade resumed at 11:20 am CDT (1620 GMT).
As of 11:30 am CDT (1630 GMT), CBOT May wheat was down 1/2 cent at $3.41-1/2 per bushel, with deferred months up 1/4 cent to down 1-1/4 cents.
