An industrial group from Mauritius has expressed interest in setting up a steel manufacturing plant in Pakistan. A six-member delegation of Essar Group of Mauritius now touring Pakistan visited Port Qasim Authority on Thursday.
The delegation, headed by Essar Group Director J. Mehra, during their visit to Port Qasim showed keen interest in investment in Pakistan.
In a briefing session, the delegation members informed that the objective of setting up the proposed project was to promote steel-related projects, manufacture reinforcement bars and steel coil, etc.
The Group is already operating in India and Indonesia and has signed memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with Trinidad, Qatar and Iran. Earlier, the delegation paid a call on PQA Chairman, Vice-Admiral Asad Qureshi.
