Opposition should resign en bloc from the senate, National and Provincial assemblies to force General Pervez Musharraf to hold free, fair and impartial elections as early as possible, said Barrister Taj Muhammad Khan Langah Chief of Pakistan Seraiki Party (PSP) while addressing the workers here on Friday.
He said that it is proper time to tender their resignations but Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leadership was reluctant to tender their resignations and it wants to stay in power. He said that Punjab government wants to keep the Seraiki belt backward and its malicious designs are evident from its policies.
Langah criticised the recent decisions of the Punjab cabinet to construct Lahore-Sialkot motorway and sports complex on 3,000 acres in Lahore. He said the towns and cities of Seraiki belt, including Multan, were presenting a dilapidated look while billions of rupees were being wasted on non-useful projects in the upper Punjab.
He said the PSP had announced to hold a public meeting at Qasim Bagh, Multan, on April 14, but the chief minister had also announced to hold a meeting on the same day.
