Arabica coffee futures prices settled in negative territory on light speculative selling, though market players refrained from taking big positions ahead of a crop forecast by top coffee grower Brazil, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's active May arabica contract eased 0.50 cent to end at $1.0835 a lb, after trading from $1.08 to $1.0970 - inside this week's trading range.
July coffee dipped 0.55 cent to end at $1.1120 a lb and longer-dated arabicas lost 0.45 to 0.50 cent.
