Elaborate preparations to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) with zeal, fervour and religious solemnity on Tuesday have been completed in the city.
The day would begin with special prayers after morning prayers for the well-being of Muslim Ummah and alleviation of sufferings of the people of Kashmir, Palestinian, Iraq and improvement in the living conditions of the Muslims in the poor Muslim states.
Different organisations will take out processions from different mosques and in the afternoon merge with the main procession passing through M. A. Jinnah Road to terminate at Memon Masjid. The processionists will offer Namaz-e-Zohr near Tibet Centre. Throughout the route, Sabeels would be set up. Food will also be distributed at different places.
There will be Mahafil-e-Naat-o-Darud Sharif and lectures on the Uswa-e-Hasana (peace be upon him) for men and women in mosques, Madaris, community centres and schools.
To give the occasion a festive look, mosques and important buildings would be illuminated with coloured bulbs, festoons and buntings. Green flags with Kalma-I-Tayabba have already been hoisted on houses, mosques and main buildings of the city.
City district government has made special arrangements to maintain law and order and provide security to procession that would be taken out from different mosques. Rangers would be deployed at sensitive points to keep an eye on miscreants.
Policemen in plain clothes would accompany the precisionists and remain watchful of any subversive activity that might disturb peace of the city. Tuesday has been declared as public holiday.
