The Western winds coming from Afghanistan would continue hitting Peshawar valley and rest of the country for the next 24 hours, an official of the Met office said here on Monday.
Presently, the winds were blowing at its highest speed ie 40 knot in Peshawar and 30 knots in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, he said, adding the velocity of the winds would decrease to 25 knots on Tuesday.
He said the winds would continue to strike Peshawar with the same pace throughout the day. Day after tomorrow, he said, the speed of the winds would become normal and added that it were moving towards south in India.
To a question, he said the temperature, which had risen to 35 centigrade in Peshawar two days before had now dropped to 24 centigrade on Monday due to blowing of cold winds. The temperature had dropped to maximum 21 centigrade on Sunday due to rainfall in Peshawar, which received a total of one-millimetre rain, he concluded.
