Training centres set up in Shinkiari and Balakot

In an effort to impart complete education for constructing houses in accordance with new building codes, training centres have been established in Shankiari and Balakot.
NWFP Minister for Local Bodies and Rural Development Sardar Muhammad Idrees told PTV that the German and Swedish experts would impart continuous training to the survivors.
An awareness campaign was also continuing for disseminating maximum information about the new building codes. The provincial government has finalised 25 designs after consulting various organisations including experts from various universities, he added.
A new Balakot city would be constructed at a new venue. Survivors would be convinced not to rebuild their houses in the 8-km radius of the old city as it falls on the fault line.
About payment of compensation to the earthquake survivors of the province he said Nadra has developed special software. The money would only be transferred to the deserving after proper verification.
