Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday hinted of a headway in the probe pertaining to the tragic bomb blast at Nishter Park. He was talking to newsmen after a meeting with Ulema and Mashaikh at the Governor House here.
Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister told the media representatives that the federal as well as the provincial government was endeavouring to find out who were behind the tragic incident at Nishter Park, so as to that bring them to justice.
Shaukat Aziz said soon results would come to the fore and would be presented before the nation.
Replying to a question, he said a number of measures have been taken and a detailed meeting in this connection would soon be held.
Shaukat Aziz further assured that this very process would be carried forward.
He said that his current visit to Karachi was in connection with the tragic event at the Nishter Park on Tuesday evening.
The Prime Minister said that he as well as the Interior Minister, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ejazul Haq, who have come with him, held a number of meetings with the Sindh Governor, Chief Minister, Home Minister as well as senior officials of the federal and provincial law enforcement agencies. He stated that Aftab Sherpao and Ejazul Haq on Wednesday night held meeting with the Council of the Sunni Tehrik.
Shaukat Aziz said that the process of meetings and contacts with other personalities was also continuing.
He declared that it is the endeavour of the government that the peace and law and order is maintained in this metropolis.
The Prime Minister pointed out that these elements are the enemies of the country and Islam.
He made it clear that the government on its part is taking full measures in a very serious and well-thought manner.
Shaukat Aziz said the investigation would be conducted in a very transparent manner.
The Prime Minister appealed to the people especially the Karachiites to exercise restraint, maintain peace and amity and pointed out that at this very hour the nation needs unity, tolerance and spirit of brotherhood. He said that any sort of violence, sectarianism or extremism is neither in country's interest nor it is acceptable to any Pakistani.
