England paceman Steve Harmison revealed Sunday that he is unlikely to be fit for next month's first Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's.
The Durham bowler, who returned early from the tour of India because of pain in his right shin, said that after visiting a specialist this week it now seems almost certain he will have to sit out the clash with Sri Lanka on May 11.
"Before I saw the specialist I was hopeful of playing at Lord's. But the way he was talking, my gut feeling is that I'm not going to be fit," Harmison told The Mail on Sunday.
"Realistically, I've almost no chance of being ready in time for Lord's. I aim to start running next week with my sights set on a return to action for Durham on May 10.
"If all goes well, I'm confident of being available for the second Test (at Edgbaston from May 25)."
