Jamaat-i-Islami workers asked to get prepared for one month's sit-in

All the district ameers and general secretaries of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Pakistan, attending the training workshop at JI headquarter Mansoora, on Monday.
Expressed commitment before party's central leadership to manage gathering of one hundred thousand people on one month's notice for staging a sit-in for one full month in Islamabad, to remove President Pervez Musharraf.
The JI district office-bearers further vowed to remove General Musharraf and his allies by all means before the general elections. Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad and other leaders were present on the occasion.
Addressing the training workshop, Qazi said that on-going 'separation move' in Balochistan had Indian and US backing while Pakistan's government policy was fuelling this movement.
The tribal leaders, who played a key role during the Independence Movement of the country, were being treated as Pakistan's enemies. He also lashed out at the government for operation in Wazirstan and Balochistan.
The present government will not hold fair and free elections and will not let any other party come into power through exercise of ballot. There is also no respect for the parliament and the constitution in the country and all decisions are either taken by General Pervez Musharraf or by the corps commanders and GHQ, he maintained. The country remained under the grip of civil and military bureaucracy while army remained directly involved in the government affairs, he alleged.
Qazi stressed the need for launching a big movement to remove General Musharraf and said a final decision in this respect will be taken by JI executive committee and the ARD.
Later, by show of hands, all the participants of the workshop pledged to prepare themselves for a grand movement within a month time and resolved to ensure presence of one lakh people in Islamabad for the proposed sit-in programme. Qazi announced that in case the administration did not allow them to enter the federal capital, their efforts would continue till the government surrenders. Moreover, co-operation of opposition parties would also be sought to make the movement a success, he added.
MMA chief also said that no audit of funds collected for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims was being conducted and alleged that all the amounts received under this head were directly provided to the army generals. He further said: "a World Bank employee was occupying the prime minister's office." About the recent Karachi blast, he alleged that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was directly responsible for the killing of religious leaders in the incident.
