According to the print media sugar prices have shot up to Rs 42 per kilogramme. NAB had dropped investigation against the sugar mill-owners when they promised that sugar prices will be reduced to an approachable limit to enable the common consumer to buy sugar in the open market.
But sugar mill-owners did not come up with their promises. Now what will the NAB in the present circumstances? It is to be worth mentioning that according to Press reports the cement prices have also shot up by Rs 100 per bag.
The president had praised the NAB role the other day but can a common man see the efficiency of NAB in this country. It is true that the big fish in government are doing well. Majority of sugar mill-owners are either in the federal government or are influential in government circles.
