The Federal government is mobilising huge funds on banishing the backwardness and poverty from the country on top priority basis. This was stated by Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet division Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Addressing a public meeting on Sunday night in an adjoining village Sadha Chak, she said that the main objective of the government was to develop backward and ignored areas like other parts of the country.
Dr Firdous said that government had set aside huge funds for providing hygienic drinking waster, electricity, telecommunication, gas and healthcare in far-off areas of the country.
She said that the prime concept of the government was to reduce the difference between urban and rural parts by providing all basic amenities in less-developed areas.
Dr Firdous said that for the first time in the history of the country, facilities like gas, telecommunication and electricity had been provided in downtrodden areas and its credit went to the PML-Q government.
She assured people that the facility of gas would be extended to other adjoining villages within two to three months.
Speaking on the occasion, Tehsil Nazim Imtiaz-ud-Din Dar said that sufficient funds would be allocated in the next budget for undertaking development work in rural parts of Sialkot.
Addressing the meeting, the Managing Director Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) Abdul Rashid Lone said that under the directives of the government, strenuous efforts were being made for providing the facility of Sui gas in remote and neglected areas of the country he added.
Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet division, Shahibzada Qamer Sultan and Managing Director SNGPL inaugurated the gas project, costing Rs 12.3 million.
