The Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has reiterated that APHC stands for peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a public meeting in occupied Poonch town, during his tour to occupied Poonch and Rajouri districts, he made a strong plea for inclusion of Kashmiri people in the dialogue for finding an everlasting solution to the problem. He emphasised that Kashmiris be taken into confidence who are the real sufferers and main party to the issue.
Maintaining that the people's sacrifices will not go waste, he said the time has now come when the LoC will become irrelevant. Mirwaiz Umer Farooq appealed the people to come forward in strengthening the peace efforts.
Mirwaiz added that the Hurriyat leadership will visit every village and town to take the message to people and apprise them of our stand on Kashmir issue resolution. Stating that the people living along the LoC were being denied the right to live, he asserted that no solution, howsoever workable in form, would work unless the land and people were freed from occupation.
Mirwaiz said, the Indian government must understand that if the people are subjected to the treatment of slaves they grow rebellious. We do have a solution but demilitarisation is the first step toward that solution.
"It is the commitment to the same cause that binds us together." Mirwaiz said, Kashmiri leadership could not afford to forget rest of the Kashmir, which he said was spread across entire Pir Panjal range. "You have been resisting the occupation since 1947. I know that people here are more Kashmiris than those who speak Kashmiri. We are one, our Qibla (prayer direction for Muslims) is one, our cause is one, our slogan is one and our identity is one," Mirwaiz said amid passionate sloganeering.
Mirwaiz is currently touring the twin districts of Rajouri and occupied Poonch. Senior leaders, Moulvi Abbas Ansari, Bilal Gani Lone, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosavi, are also accompanying him.
