Nearby arabica coffee futures rose 2.4 percent Tuesday, propelled by fund buying in line with a hefty gain in London's robusta market amid renewed worries about tight supply and a general boost in commodities, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's July arabica contract climbed 2.50 cents to end at $1.12 per lb., having dealt from $1.0860 to $1.1270.
Longer-dated contracts finished up 1.45 to 2.40 cents, while front-month May coffee, which has its first notice for delivery on April 20, advanced 2.55 cents to $1.0920.
