Daska Tehsil Municipal Administration Daska has failed to improve cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the city, as a result of which the people are facing multifarious problems, including health.
Due to the poor performance of the Daska TMA, several busy and thickly populated areas had been turned into garbage dump, which may cause spreading of certain ailments in the area. As a result of chocked gutters and overflowing drains, the city is in the grip of stinking smell, flies and mosquitoes, which were multiplying the miseries of the dwellers.
The shopkeepers were busy in selling the poultry meat, vegetable and fruit in the presence of huge heaps of garbage and filth, while restaurants and food shops were serving the people, which may pose threats to human life.
It is very astonishing that the TMA had failed to take appropriate measures for improving the hygienic conditions. Besides, the TMA also failed to check the meat shops and restaurants, functioning in an unhygienic conditions. In view of the prevailing unhygienic conditions in Daska, people demanded of the TMA authorities to initiate cleanliness drive on war footing and remove heaps of filth and garbage from the city. Besides, people also demanded special steps against the encroachments, and suggested that "waste bags" should be provided to the restaurants, poultry and meat shops for storage of waste and rubbish for proper disposal.
They are of the view that hospitals, clinics, poultry shops and restaurants are the main source of unhygienic conditions in Daska, which dump rubbish and waste into the drains, choking the gutter lines.
