Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ijaz ul Haq has said that the government is considering to enhance quota of Hajis to 160,000 so that maximum people could perform Haj.
While presiding over Haj Conference here on Monday, Ijaz said that Haj policy, which would be complied in the light of recommendations of this moot, would help minimise pilgrims' problems. He said that ministry would take full advantage of the suggestions compiled at the conference. The government is alive to the pilgrims' grievances and would use all resources to facilitate the 'Hujjaj', he added. Most of the problems relate to residence and transportation and government is striving hard to redress these problems, he maintained.
Talking about Haji camp to be set up in Lahore, he appreciated the chief minister for extending his maximum co-operation for the construction of camp, which would soon be inaugurated.
With a view to encourage the private Haj operators, he said the government would provide maximum facilities to them and would also enhance their quota. However, the government would also consider enhancing registration period of Haj operators from one to three years, he added.
