I am very happy to learn that National Forum for Environment & Health is holding a national conference on Corporate Social Responsibility. We at the City District Government of Karachi have seen how in so many different sectors, the application of Corporate Social Responsibility by leading business houses have assisted us in our task to make the life of the citizens' of Karachi better.
Exercise of CSR by businesses has enriched the health and education sector, helped modernize our infrastructure, promoted environmental preservation and have been generous in coming forward to assist the citizenry in general in whatever capacity their help is needed.
As separate corporate entities, as well as collectively, they have worked to make a positive difference in the lives of millions of people, who, due to a paucity of resources at the disposal of the official level.
This partnership between the official and corporate sector has always worked to the benefit of the people, and CDGK acknowledges this assistance with gratitude.
I am sure that this conference will generate interest in the concept as well as the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility and all participants will come away from this conference enriched by the shared experiences. I wish the Conference all the success.
