The week ended on April 29, 2006 saw commodities closing with mixed pattern, unlike previous week that had registered all-round rise. However, gram, gram dal, yellow peas, beetle, cotton cakes were modestly up, moong and masoor dal turned sharply lower, while plastic mouldings chemicals and dyes depicted mixed trend.
The opening day was marked by rise in kirana items such as cardamom up Rs 1000 to Rs 9000, cloves up Rs 1000 to Rs 13,500 dry ginger up Rs 200 to Rs 36,000 Isbaghol bhoosi up Rs 2400 to Rs 11,600, sago up Rs 50 to Rs 1250 and darchini up Rs 50 to Rs 2350 while elsewhere gram garda rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3000 and better quoted higher at Rs 3050, gram dal Punjab up by Rs 75 to Rs 4000 and better quoted at Rs 4050, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1400 and better seen at Rs 1500.
Yellow dal Canada up by Rs 125 to inferior quality at Rs 1700 and better quality up at Rs 1750, beetle chana I up Rs 250 to Rs 3200 and better kind quoted up at Rs 3250, beetle 50x50 was higher inferior seen at Rs 3165 and better quoted at Rs 3165 and better at Rs 3235, dal beetle up Rs 600 to Rs 4100 and better quoted at Rs 4150, guwar shed Rs 25 all stations to Rs 1900 and better type Rs 2100, wheat Mexipak quoted at Rs 1050/1055, Makai low type lost Rs 15 to Rs 825, and better type quoted at Rs 900, rapeseed cakes up Rs 7 to Rs 325, better type gained Rs 10 to Rs 330 and cotton cakes up Rs 15 to Rs 580 and better quoted at Rs 590.

ON THURSDAY masoor from Australia shed Rs 50 to Rs 2800, wheat Mexipak shed Rs 5 to Rs 1055, and juwar all stations shed Rs 50 to Rs 1950 and better quoted at Rs 2150, gram garda Punjab inferior shed Rs 25 to Rs 2925, and better tupe lost Rs 50 to Rs 3000, and gram dal lost Rs 400 to Rs 3500 and better one quoted at Rs 3575. Dyes showed mixed trend basic colour Aramina O down Rs 5 to Rs 100 acid dyes India Bordeux B Brown down Rs 10 to Rs 150, violet 6 B down Rs 2 to Rs 116, Blue N down Rs 3 to Rs 112, Sulphur dyes China brown GDR up Rs 4 to Rs 54, yellow GR up Rs 2 to Rs 52, Disperse dyes black BB 25 kg down Rs 5 to Rs 160, and yellow up Rs 5 to Rs 130.
ON FRIDAY jute goods 20x3 brown up Re 1 to Rs 40, 16x3 CRT, Indus up Re 1 to Rs 40 and 40x2 Brown up 50 paisa to Rs 37. Cotton cakes was quoted lower at Rs 580/590.
ON SATURDAY a few rates changed and most items retained their previous day's prices on grain ad seed market.
