A joint team of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), NSS (PTCL) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided a house located in the residential area of Korangi, Karachi, and seized an operational illegal gateway exchange on Friday.
The set-up was using 256 K DSL international connectivity, while GSM SIMs of a mobile operator was being used for local termination, a press release said.
Illegal exchange comprised of one gateway switch and six cellular with operational SIMs. The owner of the set-up, Aleem has been arrested.
It was estimated that the set-up was causing a loss of around Rs 0.6 million a month.-PR
