Arabica coffee futures closed mixed Monday in activity featuring small speculators as holidays in London and Brazil led to quiet trade, with players waiting for leads in the days ahead, dealers said.
The New York Board of Trade's July arabica contract eased 0.10 cent to conclude at $1.096 per lb, dealing from $1.088 to $1.104. September shed 0.05 to $1.1240. Two contracts aside, the rest gained 0.10 to 0.55 cent.
The London robusta coffee market was closed for the May 1 Labour holiday. Brazil, the world's top producer and exporter of coffee, was similarly shut.
