Amir Muhammad Khan, uncle of NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani was killed on Monday, while his two bodyguards were wounded when some unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on them at Surrani Khel in Bannu district.
Police said that Amir Muhammad Khan along with his bodyguards Sabir Ali and Fida Hussain was aboard a vehicle, when they came under attack. Amir Muhammad Khan was killed on the spot while his bodyguards were taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police have registered a case and started investigation. Later, Amir Muhammad Khan was buried in his ancestral graveyard Miwakhel Surrani in Bannu district on Monday evening. The Nimaz-e-Janaza was led by Member National Assembly Maulana Naseeb Ali Shah.
The Nimaz-e-Janaza was attended by Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, Speaker NWFP Assembly Bakht Jehan Khan scores of provincial ministers, MNAs, Senators, MPAs, district Nazims, Tehsil Nazims, Ulema, councillors and elite of the area.
