A police constable, Abdul Rasheed was killed and other injured while a passer-by Malik Faiz Bakhsh also injured when a number of outlaws attacked the police van and got released their accomplices just before production before the court the court in Alipur on Tuesday noon.
According to Police," Two accused Mushtaq alias Mushtaqi son of Allah Ditta and Nazim son of Karam-Hussain were taken to Alipur from Multan Prison to produce them before the trial court but their accomplices raided the Police van and got them freed and they shot dead a constable," DPO Muhammad Tahir told this correspondent," We have organised three teams to re-arrest them and the Punjab government has announced Rs 300,000 compensation for the constable and we are investigating the case," DPO further said that these were involved in kidnapping for ransom, dacoities and thefts etc.
One of them Mushtaq Mushtaqi was a resident of Sulltanpur (Seetpur) and Nazim of Kherpur Sadat. Meanwhile, patrolling Police on Monday night foiled an attempt of kidnappers to take a trader of Jhang city to their hideout in Khanewal and arrested them at Pul-Bagar (Kabirwala). Two Dacoits kidnapped a trader Abdul Quddos son of Hakim Hussain from Jhang when he was going to somewhere along with his driver Suleman in a car.
Later they pushed out the driver from the moving car. He immediately informed the emergency Police on phone and Jhang police have alerted the patrolling police and DPO Khanewal. When Police gestured them to stop at Pul-Bagar they opened fires at police party.
However, patrolling police blocked their from all sides and caught hold them. They were identified as Haleem Ahmed son Aman-ullah (Sillanwali) and Javed Altaf son of Altaf Masih (Jhang). Later they were given in the custody of Jhang Police.
HEPATITIS: Hepatitis-B claimed the lives of two persons including a student of BA in Khan Bela. Health authorities said that Ghulam Mustafa (30) came back to home from Saudi Arabia as he was suffering from Hepatitis B and a Graduate Nasrullah (20) died of Hepatitis. Nasrullah's father Nazim Hussain died in July, 2005 of same disease and his entire family is suffering from this fatal disease.
