The Provincial Ombudsman has directed the education department to pay the withheld reimbursement claim of the complainant Inayat Hussain and take strict action against the officials responsible for delaying the matter.
The complainant, Inayat Hussain, had approached the Ombudsman with contention that his medical reimbursement claim was sent to special secretary (schools) on November 2003, for necessary sanction. However, despite a lapse of two years period no sanction had been made so far. He, therefore, requested the Ombudsman to direct the respondents to issue sanction of his medical reimbursement claim.
The education department informed the Ombudsman Secretariat that the case of the complainant was not traceable; hence the complainant might be asked to forward a duplicate claim.
The Ombudsman observed that misplacement of the documents was manifestation of maladministration by the agency. He, therefore, directed the department to get complainant's reimbursement claim sanctioned immediately and also take necessary action against the delinquent officials.
