NWFP Senior Minister and Provincial Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq said the Muttahida-Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) government had launched a gradual process of enforcing Islamic laws, social and government sector reforms and reformation of society purely in democratic manner as per massive mandate of the people in the province.
"Our basic aim is to implement Shariah through government corridors of Islamabad and replacing the prevalent English system in the country that is long standing demand of Pakistani nation and a need of the hour," he added.
He was addressing an inaugural ceremony of the new building of Middle School Kas Banda and public rally at Kharki Banda in Tehsil Jandool during his official visit to Dir District.
On this occasion, prominent ANP leader Azizur Rehman joined JI along with hundreds of supporters, who admired people-friendly policies of the MMA government and expressed full confidence in the top and provincial leadership of JI as well as assured whole-hearted support in this respect.
Siraj-ul-Haq regretted that the federal government created numerous hurdles in smooth running of MMA government despite its sincere co-operation with the Center.
"Provincial government is stopped from legislation for enforcement of Shariah, the province is denied of its genuine constitutional rights, our assembly members are offered heavy bribes to change their loyalty and official electronic media is involved in propaganda against our government", he said.
He said that innocent tribal people were being martyred in the name of operation against foreign terrorists in adjoining areas of NWFP despite repeated demands of stopping this oppression.
The Senior Minister said MMA government had taken concrete steps for rooting out crimes, social evils, restoring peace, maintaining financial discipline, creating congenial atmosphere for promotion of tourism and investment activities in the province.
He said VIP culture was being discouraged in the officialdom while austerity and simplicity was adopted to save maximum funds for development.
He said declaring Urdu as official language, providing free education, including giving textbooks to all students, establishment of women university, girls medical college, medical university and increasing the number of other health and educational institutions were abundant proof of the MMA government's sincerity for the betterment of the people.
Hence, he said center must also come forward to help us in sorting out problems and miseries of the public instead of refraining from honouring its promises and announcements in this regard.
He said the MMA government had launched a number of mega projects throughout the province to ensure uniform development instead of restricting to few cities, so that people of backward and far-flung areas could also be benefited from the fruits of prosperity.
