The Karachi Port handled 104,781 tonnes of cargo including 84,339 tonnes import and 20,442 tonnes export cargo including 5,216 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 72,581 tonnes dry cargo including 60,055 tonnes general cargo; 7,190 tonnes sugar; 5,336 tonnes rice and 32,200 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Iran Tabatabaei, Oal Victory, Apl Dalian, Satha Bhum, Angeliki-D, Lady Jasmine and Naxos sailed out to sea during the report period.
Eight vessels viz Kota Waris, Patriot-R, Hyundai Future, MT Johar, Piemonte, Y M Star, Corinthiakos and Sp 5-Eric G Gibson are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Y M Star and Arihant expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship MT Johar is expected to sail on Friday.
Two ships namely San Jiang Kou and MT Khairpur due to arrive on Thursday, while two more vessels viz Sunrise Rosa and Kota Tampan are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 7,500 tonnes diesel oil; 6,175 tonnes edible oil; 2,348 tonnes sugar; 6,178 tonnes rice; 3,153 tonnes coke; 5,604 tonnes chemicals and 50,626 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four ships namely CV Nederland Mascut, CV Asian Trader, MV Bulk Phoenix and MT Al-Maqwa sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more vessels viz Pegasus-7, MT Gagasan Melaka and CV Thuringla Express are expected to sail on Thursday.
A total of four vessels viz Emirates Swan, Gulf Tiger, Bolan and Indonesia Star are currently at the outer anchorage.
Three ships namely CV Indonesia Star, MT Emirates Swan and MT Gulf Tiger due to take berths on Thursday.
Container vessel Xiang Wan is due to arrive on Thursday, while two more container ships namely CV MSC Manu and CV CMA CGM Alabama are due to arrive on Friday.
