City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that seven multi-storey car-parking plazas would be constructed at various spots in the metropolis to meet the growing number of vehicles coming out on city's roads everyday.
This he stated while addressing at the meeting called to review the process of implementation of transport and telematic system here at the Civic Centre. General Manager Siemens Akbar Hussain and City District Government Karachi (CDGK) officials were also present.
City Nazim said the construction of a few parking plazas would not be sufficient to provide proper space to the huge number of vehicles in the city. However, the proposed parking plazas would help, to an extent, in coping with car parking issue, he maintained.
He said the incumbent city government was also working for the betterment of the transport system. He said several uplift projects were being carried out in the city including construction of flyovers, underpasses, and roads, besides construction of inter-provincial bus terminus outside the city.
