Deputy Secretary General of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) Liaquat Baloch has said the opposition will hold sit-in in Islamabad and tender resignations from assemblies at a suitable time.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that the opposition parties were agreed over launching the anti-government drive and waiting for a appropriate time for the campaign.
He said due to military operation undertaken by Musharraf situation was fast heading towards deterioration and dangers for national security were on the rise. But rulers were constantly claiming that they were bringing development in the country and mega projects have been started but no impacts on the lifestyle of the tribal people were visible rather suspicion against Federation were increasing.
Liaqat Baloch said that rulers claim Sardars were responsible for the present situation but military rulers were behind all the situation. Real issue in Pakistan is usurping grab of rights of the province by the federation. Civil governments in the past did not ensure rights to the provinces. He said provinces should be given their rights.
He said one group was demanding total liberation while the other complete provincial autonomy. People of Balochistan were demanding these rights due to their belief in political and constitutional rights of struggle.
He said end to military dictatorship, restoration of 1973 Constitution in toto, a sovereign parliament, established through an independent election commission is backed by Opposition parties.
He said objective of his visit to Balochistan was to take stock of the situation in Balochistan. He held meetings with leaders of MMA, President BNP Sardar Akhtar Mengal and provincial President ARD Senator (R) Amanulah Kanrani.
He said gas pipeline between Iran and Pakistan is a national project should be completed without sustaining American pressure and people's reservations should be removed. He said MMA is of the stand that complete solidarity should be expressed with Iranian and Palestinian people and Pakistan Government must not take any wrong policy about Iran.
