The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Member Facilitation and Taxpayers Education Habib Fakhruddin has said the overall tax paying system had been simplified with the establishment of Medium Tax payer units (MTUs).
He was talking to President and executives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Tuesday. The meeting presided by RCCI President Jalil Ahmad Malik was also attended by Vice president Syed Ali Raza Saeed Shah, Syed Touqeer Bokhari, Abdul Basit, Hafiz Idrees and Shahzad Malik.
Fakhruddin said all the data of taxpayers had been computerised in MTU system and more reforms would be introduced for taxpayer comfort. "Taxpayer has special role in newly introduced CBR reforms and the board will provide all available services to taxpayers," he added.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Jalil Ahmad Malik said the MTUs certainly simplified the tax paying system but still there was room for improvement.
