A local city magistrate has issued notice to Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in a contempt suit filed against him by Chairman Communist Party Irfan Saeed.
The complainant contended that the respondent had issued a statement against the tenants of the board and also declared them as Qabza group. He said that some tenants had challenged increase in monthly rent charged by the board and the matter was also pending before the court. He said that such statement of the respondent amounts to contempt of court, hence prayed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondent.
The court, after hearing the petitioner counsel at length, issued notice to the respondent for May 14 and rose for the day.
