The lawyers' community will observe strike in Punjab on Wednesday to protest and mourn the death of Amer Cheema who fell pray to an extra-judicial killing in Germany. The lawyers will not appear before the courts after 11.00am. to express sympathies with the parents of Amer Cheema.
The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) had taken the decision of observing strike on May 10. The bar had requested the lawyers to join the funeral of Amer Cheema. It also called upon the government to raise this issue with the German government.
