Minister for Information Technology Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari on Tuesday said that districts and civil courts of the country would be automated for the facility of common man.
Speaking in PTV programme, for global viewers, he said the government would soon announce the project. The minister said role of 'arzee navees' would be finished in the courts as in future people would write their grievance through computer to all these courts.
The Information Ministry has started this programme with the collaboration of Ministry of law's excess to justice programme. He further said in two to three courts this programme had already been introduced as a pilot project. Chief Justice has supported and lauded the programme, he added.
Awais Ahmad Leghari said tele-medicine facility would also be available in district hospitals in near future. He said that ten hospitals had been selected for this purpose, adding that arrangements had been made with Agha Khan and Ghulab Devi hospitals.
Consultants in these hospitals would be available for the districts hospital's doctors for discussion and consultation. The doctors of district hospitals would discuss the cases of their patient through video conferences and exchanges of data.
To a question, he said federal ministries would be connected through fibre link soon. Pakistani companies are creating six different software in which movement of files, planning, budget and development plan would be automated.
He said National Assembly and Senate had already been automated which would soon be inaugurated.
He said in next two-three years IT sector would create 0.3 million jobs. Revolution would be witnessed in the IT sector in coming years, he added.
To another question, he said 4 to 5 billion dollar investment had been attracted in telecom sector. The same trend of investment would remain next two to three years in the telecommunication sector, he hoped.
