Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President Ikhaq Ahmad Butt and other trade leaders have strongly protested against frequent tripping and unscheduled loadshedding by Gepco.
In a statement, they said that interruption in power supply badly effected the production and also hamper export. The industrialists particularly, complained about unannounced and unscheduled loadshedding. They suggested that loadshedding, if necessary should be scheduled in consultation with the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry so that working hours could be staggered without effecting production plan.
The summer is in full swing and citizens can not withstand heat wave without electric fans etc Old, weak and frail as also children and students are the worst hit. The trade circles resent that repeated calls for uninterrupted supply had fallen on deaf ears and industrialists were made to suffer financial losses.
FOUR KILLED: Four tillers including a female were killed in a road mishap on Pasrur Road on Tuesday night.
According to details about 10 workers riding a tractor trolley were on way to their home. When reached around village Basiwala, the trolley collided with a wagon and turned turtle. As a result four persons including a woman were killed and six others including two children injured. Those killed were identified as Siddique, Manzoor, Tractor driver Hanif and Hajran Bibi. The injured were removed to hospital.
WALK: Traffic police held a walk to educate people about road sense and traffic laws. DIG Traffic Punjab Qamar Altaf led the walk while SP Traffic; DIG Gujranwala Police Zafar Abbas Lak, DCO, Zila Nazim and representatives of NGOs joined the walk. The participants were carrying placards and banners. Walk started from Gondlanwala crossing and ended at Sheranwala Bagh.
