Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were higher early on Wednesday on follow-through buying from Tuesday and concerns about frost in the US Plains, traders said.
But trade was choppy at times, and brokers were monitoring early declines in the Kansas City market, which was setting back from contract highs on Tuesday.
As of 10:35 am CDT (1535 GMT), CBOT May wheat was up 2-1/2 cents at $3.78 per bushel, with July up 1-1/4 at $3.86.
