The Australian High Commission and the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Saturday agreed to hold an exhibition and a joint venture in the city. The investors from Pakistan, Australia and Afghanistan would participate in the exhibition.
In the joint venture and exhibition the local and Australian investors would prepare a strategy for participation in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Both were agreed to it in a meeting between Sarhad Chamber President Ghazanfar Bilour and Senior Trade Commissioner at Australian High Commission in Islamabad, Mike Moignard and Greig Hull here at the Chamber House. Those attended the meeting were senior Sarhad Chamber Vice-President Inayat Khan, its Vice-President Ahmad Khan and Chamber Executive Committee Members, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Arshad Siddiqui, Mohammad Amin Mohmand, Haji Iftikhar Ahmad, and Sharafat Ali Mubarak.
The meeting stressed the need for the promotion of bilateral relations and trade in livestock, education, investment and marble sectors.
Ghazanfar Bilour said that NWFP has big potential for both domestic and foreign investment, adding that special incentives have been announced for the investment in hydel power generation, tourism, marble, gems and minerals and other sectors by the provincial government.
