Gains and losses almost matched on the wholesale commodities market with two days close on account of Giarhwin Sharif on Wednesday and due to partial strike on Friday, showing a few fluctuations, during the week ended on May 13, 2006.
The items under went changes were makai, Gawar, Irri white, Wheat, Cottoncakes, Pepper , Cardomom, Cloves Isbaghol, Corrianderseed etc.
The details how wholesale markets behaved during the week is as under: Makai held firm for sometime lost Rs 20/25 to Rs 820 and better quoted at Rs 875, Guwar was up Rs 50 to Rs1975 while better one was quoted at Rs 2175, Irri White low type shed Rs 10 to rs 840 whereas better one did not fluctuate and was quoted at Rs 880.
On Tuesday White Pepper Singapore was down Rs 100 to Rs 4,000 , Cardamom from Guatemala down Rs 2,200 to Rs 10,000, Cardamom from Tanzania down Rs 18,00, to Rs 7,200 Big Cardamom down Rs 500 to Rs 8,500, Cloves up Rs 300 to Rs 13,800, Isbaghol up Rs 1400 to Rs 1300, Sago down Rs 50 to Rs 1200, Aniseed up Rs 200 to Rs 4200, Corrianderseed I down Rs 320 to Rs 2000, Corranderseed II down Rs 200 to Rs 1600 and Tamarind quoted at Rs 1400, Wheat Mexipak up Rs 5 to Rs 1060, Cottoncakes up Rs 5 to Rs 620 and better was quoted higher at Rs 625. Wednesday was a closed holiday on account of Giarhwin Sharif and hence no changes were received from any city markets.
On Thursday plastic moldings had some variation according to the market players at higher prices. HDPE film Saudia 952 up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25, Mobil up Rs 1 to Rs 40.25, TR 144 up 25 paisa to R 40, HDPE blow Kuwait up 50 paisa to Rs 40.25, Marlex up 25 paisa to Rs 40.25, LDPE MG 20 up Rs 1 to Rs 41, LLDPE w 118 up Rs 1.25 To Rs 42, 7087 up Re1 to Rs 41.50, Sabic 5000 25 quoted at Rs 42, Kuwait up 50 paisa to Rs 42, Saudia up 50 paisa to Rs 42, Polypropylene injection grade Saudia up 25 paisa to Rs 42.50, India up 25 paisa to Rs 42.50, Kuwait up 25 paisa to Rs 42, Copoly Block up 50 paisa to Rs 43, and Random quoted at Rs 46. Grain market was seen higher.
On Thursday. Gram garda up Rs 50 to Rs 3000 and better type up Rs 100 to Rs 3100, Gram dal Garda also up and inferior type picked up Rs 100 to Rs 3700 and better type up Rs 150 to Rs 3800, Yellow peas Canada posted a gain of Rs 20 to Rs 1480 and better type higher by Rs 10 to Rs 1670 , Beetle Chana I up Rs 50 to Rs 3125 and better quoted higher at Rs 3250, Beetle 50x50 up by Rs 75 to Rs 3050 and better quoted at Rs 3150, dal Beetle up Rs 150 to Rs 3800 and better type up Rs 200 to Rs 3900, Basmati D 98 Shahdadkot inferior type lsot Rs 100 to Rs 1850 while good type had no variation, Wheat Mexipak up Rs 10 to Rs 1070. On Friday no trading was seen due to partial strike on call by opposition prties.
On Saturday firmness prevailed as most of the items maintained their overnight levels.
