The Debating Society of GC University Lahore has lifted the 'All Pakistan Parliamentary Style English Debating Championship Trophy' held at the King Edward Medical University (KEMU).
The GCU team comprising Soufia Siddiqi and Abdul Rehman beat Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums) team in the final. Likewise, the Debating Society of the varsity also lifted the 'All Pakistan Parliamentary Style Urdu Debating Championship Trophy' held at the same onset. The GCU team comprising Rana Abdul Aziz and Hamza Ijaz defeated University of Engineering and Technology (UET) team in the final to lift the team trophy. It is a record that the GCU team won both the English and Urdu Trophies at the prestigious contest.
Rana Hamza Ijaz, assistant secretary of the Debating Society of GC University Lahore was declared the best speaker of the contest. Sana Taskeen Gulzar and Mian Fraz Mansoor Ali of GCU won the consolation prizes in the English and Urdu categories, respectively.
