The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced to pay cash rewards to those who provide prosecutable information to the Bureau about financial corruption.
"Depending upon nature of the case and significance of the information provided, a specific amount is paid to be the informer by the Bureau," a NAB statement said on Tuesday. The percentage of amount is paid to informer out of NAB's share of the recovered amount according to the approved formula, it said.
The details of the formula state that any person who provides correct information to NAB, which proves substantially helpful in prosecuting the corrupt shall be paid reward out of the total of NAB's share of "recovered sum".
In case of more than one informer the amount of reward shall be shared by the informers, the statement said. The statement said that the Bureau also attaches great importance to the accountability of its own employees.
"Any employee entering into financial deal with the accused party is tried in severe terms of law".
NAB has asked the people to report incidents of corrupt practices by any NAB official, any person providing authentic information with prosecution evidence about corruption, leading to the conviction of any NAB offer will be awarded Rs 1 million.
The NAB assures confidentiality of the names and addresses of the informers. Proper security shall be provided in case of high risk tip-offs to the Bureau, the statement said.
