Rotted electricity pole pulled down

A huge electricity pole, which had three street lights working on it at the Paradise Hotel crossing in Saddar Area was pulled down last night by the street light section team of the KESC because the electric pole had 'rotted' due to excessive oxidisation and was about to fall, which could have caused great damage including pedestrians on the footpath, reports UPP.
People in the area appreciated the fact that the KESC street lights wing tore down the pole in time. Its core was found to be over-rusted and the only thing keeping it in its place was the internet and TV service providers wires that were looped around the pole.
It may be mentioned here that in many areas of the city rust has eaten into the foundations of electric poles and these need to be replaced before these fall on unwary pedestrians.
