An excise official was shot dead by two persons at his house at Poonch House Staff Colony Lytton Road area on Saturday. Police said the victim Sultan Adil (45) was an official of the Excise Department who had contracted two marriages.
A property dispute was underway between him and his second wife Shahnaz and her brothers, residing in Samanabad. Today, she reportedly sent two unidentified men to her husband's house to discuss the issue, who opened fire as soon as Sultan Adil opened the door, and fled away.
The man died on the spot. His body was removed to the city morgue for autopsy. The deceased was the father of six children. A case has been registered against accused Shahnaz and two accomplices, and police have started investigation.
