Meezan Bank Limited, the pioneering dedicated Islamic commercial bank of Pakistan, in its aim to promote Riba Free Banking has decided to establish a training centre for Islamic Banking and Finance based on international standards.
The centre will be associated with Product Development & Shariah Compliance - the research & development department of the bank, and will function under the supervision and guidance of Meezan Bank's Shariah Supervisory Board headed by world-renowned scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani and Shariah Advisor Dr Imran Usmani.
World-renowned Shariah scholars & Islamic bankers will be invited to contribute as faculty members at the centre. The aims of the centre would be to promote the cause of Riba-Free banking through knowledge sharing and awareness programmes, provide in house training to the employees of Meezan Bank Ltd and to advise in the area of curriculum development for Islamic banking & finance courses to different academic institutes, both locally and abroad.
