Many know well how much I love my country, Pakistan. But when I observe the recurrent occurrences of acid throwing over rival men and women in particular, I feel embarrassed.
The Islamic penalty of 'Qisas' is the befitting answer to eradicate this menace and every one should be mindful that, 'the Law of Qisas and Diyat' was promulgated since 1991.
According to the law of Qisas, the main principle to be observed while awarding 'Qisas' is equality in punishment - meaning thereby, that Qisas awarded only when there is no danger of breaching the parity during the execution of the penalty.
Thus keeping this principle into account, the exact quantity of the acid used in the offence is measurable now by applying scientific methods. Thus, after a holding, finally by the court, according to the experts' report on the quantity of acid used against the victim, the convict can be subjected to the same measure of acid over the same parts of his body that the convict had chosen while committing the horrible offence. I say for sure that, after a single execution, no one shall dare to go for the offence.
The rabid dog biting has been a routine in our country - let us say that no budget is available to cope with the need and availability of the anti-rabies vaccines at every hospital and health centre throughout the country.
Then can't the battalion of policemen and nazims be asked about the simple task of eliminating the mad dogs roaming all around in our cities and villages? Can our leadership save Sonia Naz from a DPO and his pet SHO?
If we could not do simply that, how can we claim to have the right to insist that we were not a failed State? The state never fails, but it is always the leadership which fails!!! How a state can be declared a success story if a 'Bandit King' and a 'Bandit Queen' have been her PM's twice each - and who instead of returning the plundered wealth, are writing a charter of democracy? Can't they comprehend the fact that there is no written constitution, let alone a charter in the country, which 'Pakistani plunders politicians' have made a den for themselves. Still there has been a democracy despite a monarchy.
