People asked to register names in voter lists

Convenor, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Co-ordination Committee, Dr Imran Farooq on Tuesday asked countrymen to register their names in fresh voters' lists. In a statement issued here, Dr Imran has said eligible voters must get their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), to register their names in fresh voters' lists.
He said, the Election Commission of Pakistan has cancelled the old voters' lists and decided to conduct a fresh census of voters before the next elections. Voters names will be registered in the lists according to their CNIC.
He said every eligible individual in the country must get CNIC to exercise the right of franchise in the next elections.
