The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), in collaboration with the 'Centre for Integrated Mountain Research' (CIMR) of the University of Punjab, is organising a training course on environment monitoring from May 29 to June 2.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, besides national organisations, scientists from Syria are also participating in the training.
The statement said that the course would cover complexities of environmental pollution, spectroscopic monitoring, analytical techniques, air pollution dispersion mathematical modelling, applications of remote sensing and GIS in environment monitoring.
It will also include study of emission standards and monitoring of criteria pollutants, legislative aspects of environmental protection, environment monitoring, impact assessment and natural resources management.
The course will play a vital role in enhancement of science and technology applications and related human resource development.
The objective of the training course is to impart and share the current knowledge as well as existing experience in the laboratory and field regarding environmental sciences for mutual benefits of the participants.-PR
