The syndicate and academic council of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, have been reconstituted after the lapse of their term in office.
According to a notification, the Punjab governor, in exercise of his powers as chancellor of the university, has nominated the following as members of UHS syndicate for a term of three years: Dr Muhammad Naseer Khan, Vice-chancellor, Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan, Professor Laiq Hussain, head of Anatomy Department, Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Professor Shahnaz Aftab, pharmacology department, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi, Professor Shahida A. Sheikh, head of obstetrics & gynaecology department, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore, Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik, Secretary, National Biotechnology Commission, Islamabad, Professor Majid Chaudhary, Professor of Surgery, King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Munir Ahmad Chaudhry and Professor Anwaar A. Khan, Chairman, Sheikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore.
The following persons have been nominated as members of the UHS academic council for a three-year term: Professor Dr Jawad Sajid Khan, Principal Executive Officer/Dean Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore, Professor Dr Adnan Ali Khan, head of oral surgery department, de' Montmorency Institute of Dental Science, Lahore, Mrs Irshad Begum, Chief Nursing Superintendent, Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore, Brigadier Dr Mowaddat Hussain Rana, advisor on psychiatry, Army Medical College, Rawalpindi and Dr Naveed Ahsan, ENT specialist, Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore.
