Ukraine's large ore concentration plant Tsentralniy GOK increased iron concentrate output by 6.8 percent to 1.847 million tonnes in January-April 2006 compared with the same period in 2005, the company said on Monday. The company said it had produced 475,000 tonnes of concentrate in April from 480,000 in March.
The plant, located in Kryvy Rih in central Ukraine, said it had cut iron pellet output by 14.4 percent to 667,300 tonnes in the first four months of this year compared with January-April 2005.
Tsentralniy GOK said it had cut pellet output to 100,000 tonnes in April from 192,000 in March.
The company increased ore concentrate output by 10.6 percent to 5.325 million tonnes in 2005, while pellet production rose by 1.0 percent to 2.15 million.
Tsentralniy GOK is majority owned by System Capital Management, part of the business empire of Ukraine's richest man, Rinat Akhmetov.
