Jehangir Badr, Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP), strongly hitting at the privatisation process being undertaken in the country at present has vowed to de-privatise all such institutions including Steel Mill when their party comes into power.
While addressing a press conference, here on Tuesday, Badr strongly lamenting privatised institutions, said their administration was forcing the labour out without giving them notices. He lamented administration of the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) for throwing out 1,000 employees also without any notice on the occasion. Terming privatisation as one-man process, he rejected it and said that PPPP would never be party to this unevenness.
To a question about certain bad management of nationalised establishments during the PPP government in 70's, he agreeing on the slips due to lack of party infrastructure to handle the situation at time said that now the Party was in much better position and would not repeat it's earlier mistakes. He announced that they would take back all employees ousted by management of recently privatised institutions in jobs while coming into power.
Former Governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar talking to journalists on the occasion said signing of Charter of Democracy was need of the hour. Giving his opinion of role of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Khar said that this party was involved in all the good or bad things of the present regime. He said people of Sindh and Punjab knowing of this fact, would consider voting for them in future elections.
When asked a question on role of Benazir and Nawaz Sharif in future, he said that they have to play their due role in the circumstances, otherwise events by itself would create leadership, he added.
