Minister of State for Oversees Pakistanis Raza Hayat Hiraj has sought the advice of Zarai Tarqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to purchase John Deere (72 HP) tractor, whose scheme was quashed by the Sindh High Court (SHC).
However, the aggrieved parties and the Industries Ministry have filed an appeal with the Supreme Court of Pakistan, hearing of which is scheduled on Thursday.
The sources in the Oversees Pakistanis Ministry told Business Recorder that the minister had written a letter to the ZTBL president highlighting that he wanted to clear the loan immediately, he obtained from the bank for agricultural inputs in the name of his wife.
The minister also asked the ZTBL to send him the statements of the loan so that payment was made, but at the same time he wished to purchase a tractor John Deere in lieu of the same property.
